William H. Biesterfeld, Jr., age 73, of Sheridan, WY died Thursday, August 10, 2006, in his Sheridan home.

Bill was born December 28, 1932, in North Dakota to William & Rosina (Irish) Biesterfeld.

Bill grew up and attended schools in Falkirk & Washburn, N. Dakota.  He served in the U. S. Navy for four years.  Bill married Marilyn Meckle in 1954, in McClusky, N. Dakota.  After the service, he graduated from Diesel & Automotive Tech School in Los Angeles, CA.  They returned to North Dakota where he went to work for Peter Kiewit Sons.  They traveled around to several states with construction projects.  Bill retired in Sheridan in 1990.  Bill was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church as an usher and on the board of trustees.  Bill enjoyed hunting (especially goose hunting), fishing, snowmobiling and visiting with friends and family.  He loved to putter fixing or building something in his shop and especially loved and enjoyed his grandchildren. 

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Linda Lee, brother Raymond and a grandson Michael.

Bill is survived by his wife Marilyn of Sheridan; sons William of Ponder, TX and Jason of Sheridan; daughter Sheila Biesterfeld of Puyallup, WA; brothers Dewayne of Arkansas and Lyle of Nevada; sisters Agnes Messer of N. Dakota, Margaret Rothman of Illinois, Lewylla Rehbien of Rock Springs, WY, Darlyne Best of Louisiana, Charlotte Landenberger of Nevada, Ruth Brown of California and Barbra Vaith of California; four grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Sunday (Aug. 13th) from Champion Ferries Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be 10:30am on Monday from Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. William Heine officiating.  Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Marjorie H. Ferren, 93, of Sheridan passed away on August 10, 2006 at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.

Marjorie was born October 18, 1912, in Sheridan to Joseph and Olinda (Schumacher) Heisler. She graduated from Sheridan High School and went on to the University of Wyoming to receive her B.A. in education. She married Jack E. Ferren in Golden, CO on March 30, 1934 and they raised two sons. Marjorie’s entire focus was her family and anything of interest to them was of interest to her. She loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting in the Big Horn Mountains. Marjorie was the founding President of the University of Wyoming Chapter of the National Chi Omega Sorority. She was a member and founding President of P.E.R.L.S and was associated with many social events of the Sheridan Elks Lodge.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Gene. She is survived by her husband, Jack Ferren of Sheridan; her son, David Ferren and his wife Joanne of Penfield, NY; and her two grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at Kane Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at 10:30 am with The Reverend Ron Stolcis officiating. Interment of cremains will follow in the Sheridan Elks Cemetery. Kane Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Reece Bradford Gale, Sheridan, born August 4, 2006 and died August 4, 2006 at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.

He was born to Wendy (Carroll) and John Gale.

He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Mary Rojo, Servio Carroll Sr, Harvey "Brick" Gordon, Imogene and Paul Mock and John and Rose Gale. He is survived by his great-grandparents, Laveta Dinnebeck, Adelaida Carroll and Oscar J Rojo; his grandparents, Lynn Gordon, Servio and Mary Carroll and Vesta and Larry Gale; his aunts and uncles, Kelly Carroll, Sheanna Steingass, Rochelle Fox, Paul and Jane Gale, and Mike and Ana Gale; and his cousins, Greg Gale, Ashley Fox, Brayton Fox, Vlastimir Gale, and Nadja Gale, all of Sheridan.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August, 8, 2006, at St. Peters Episcopal Church with The Reverend David Duprey officiating. Interment will follow at the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Kane Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

LaVere C. Graham (Miller), 81, of Story, WY, died Tuesday, August 8, 2006 in Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Graham was born December 20, 1924 in Casper, WY to Benjamin and Aryeka  (Rasmussen) Chastain.  She grew up and attended schools in Casper.  Later the family moved to Rock Springs, WY where Mrs. Graham graduated from Rock Springs High School in 1943.  She then attended Colorado Women’s College in Denver, CO, graduating in 1945.

She married William S. Graham 1948 in Sheridan, WY.  The Graham’s lived on the family ranch West of Wyola until their retirement.  Mrs. Graham was a bookkeeper and a homemaker.

She was a 60-year member of Beta Sigma Phi and was the first President of the Sheridan Chapter, a past state President of the Montana G. F. W. C., (General Federation of Women’s Clubs), a member of  D. A. R., and was a 4-H leader.

Mrs. Graham enjoyed knitting, sewing, reading, gardening, the computer, and spending time with her family.

LaVere was preceded in death her parents; her stepfather; her stepbrother and his family, and her husband, William.

Mrs. Graham is survived by her ex-husband, Len Miller, of Story, WY; one son, Eric. S. Graham, of Cape Coral, FL; one daughter, Sandra L. Canfield, of Story, WY; one brother, Benjamin Chastain, of Sheridan, WY; 3 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 1 niece.

Funeral service for Mrs. Graham will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 12, 2006 at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Lawrence Zillmer officiating.  Interment will be in the Elk’s Section of Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.  Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Charles R. Hall, 68, of Sheridan, WY, died Thursday, August 24, 2006 s. of Sheridan, WY.

Mr. Hall was born May 14, 1938 in Springfield, MA to Charles J. and Helen B. (Thompson) Hall.  He grew up in South Hampton, MA.  Mr. Hall came to Buffalo, WY and joined the police force & was an officer there, then joined the Navy in 1969.  He was later sent to Viet Nam where he was attached to CMBU 301 & Seal Team 21.  He was honorably discharged from the service on March 8, 1972.  After the service, he moved to Colorado where he attended Red Rocks Community College, graduating in 1975.

Mr. Hall married Sharon Gieseker May 12, 1975 in Golden, CO.  Mr. Hall worked for the Bureau of Roads and the Bureau of Reclamation concrete Dams Branch & had a career service of 14 years with the government.

  The Hall’s moved to Ft. Washakie, WY in April of 1990, and to Sheridan in April of 2002. 

Mr. Hall was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans where he himself was a service connected disabled vet.  He enjoyed motorcycles & formed a motorcycle club called the Valley Crusaders, Charter #983 in Westfield, MA on September 12, 1956.  He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, camping, making deer and elk horn jewelry, gardening, his family, and his dogs.  He belonged to the Christian Motorcycle Association, and was a kind and caring servant of his God.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, and 1 brother.

Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Sharon, of Sheridan, WY; one son, Charles Roy Hall, of Denver, CO; four daughters by his first marriage, , Ann Marie (Hall) Handrich, of  Deer Park, TX, Debra L. (Hall) Coverston, of Katy, TX, Tammy G. (Hall) Cooper, of Deer Park, TX, and Cindy D. (Hall) Gallien, of Deer Park, TX; one sister, Caroline Frary, of Lenox, MA; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

At Mr. Hall’s, request, no services are planned.  Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Darlene C. Hartman, 57, of Sheridan passed away on August 13, 2006 at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.

Darlene was born November 29, 1948, in Sheridan to Ralph and Olga Walker. She graduated from Sheridan High School and went to work for Sheridan Meat Co. and Memorial Hospital. She married Charles Hartman in 1973 and together they had one son. Charles and Darlene later divorced. Darlene loved being with family and friends, playing with her cat, Squeakers, and attending her son’s sporting events. She was a Girl Scout leader for several years and was an avid bingo player.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Walker; and her special cat, Nemo. She is survived by her mother, Olga Walker of Sheridan; her two brothers, Jim Walker and wife Peggy of Arizona and Tom Walker and wife Pat of Sheridan; her son, Marc Hartman and wife Anne of Sheridan; two step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

She touched the hearts of many and will be missed by all.

Cremation has taken place and private family services will follow at a later date. Kane Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Roman J. Legerski, Sr., age 73, died Wednesday, August 9, 2006, in Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.

Roman was born March 17, 1933, in Monarch, WY to George W. Sr. and Anna (Zowada) Legerski. 

He attended Monarch School and graduated from Sheridan High School.  Growing up he worked with his father raising show bulls and learning the meat processing business.  Roman served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  After the service, he returned to Sheridan and attended Sheridan College.  He managed the family ranch and then sold insurance and real estate.  He eventually returned to the families Sheridan Meat Co. business.  Roman married Norma Dunn on January 5, 1976, in Sheridan.  After Sheridan Meat Co. closed, he returned to his Dad’s original meat plant in Monarch and opened up Legerski Processing until his retirement.  He was a life member of Sheridan Elks Lodge #520.  Roman enjoyed fishing, camping and being with his family.

Roman was preceded in death by his parents, sister Olga Pilch and an infant sister.

Roman is survived by his wife Norma of Monarch; sons Roman Legerski Jr. of Ranchester, WY, Tony Farella, Jr. of Newcastle, WY and Ty Farella of Newcastle; daughters Tammy Anthony of Sheridan, Lori Zowada of Sheridan and Carol Rossman of Newcastle, WY; brothers George W. of Sheridan and John D. of Sheridan; sisters Elizabeth Stanko of Gordon, NE, Erma Pagliocca of Freehold, NJ, Anne Presenkowski of Denver, CO and Helen Siegoski of Buffalo, WY; 20 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

James H. Konkel, age 80, of Sheridan, WY died Thursday, August 24, 2006, in his Sheridan home after a short battle with cancer.

Mr. Konkel was born December 14, 1925, in LaJunta, Colorado, to Reginald & Ann (Mead) Konkel.

Mr. Konkel grew up and attended schools in LaJunta.  He was an Eagle Scout in the LaJunta Koshare Indian Boy Scout Dancer Troop and performed throughout Colorado.  After graduating from LaJunta High School in 1943, he was accepted in the U.S. Navy Officers Candidate School and received his commission as an ensign in 1945.

He married Joyce Ann Caton of Rocky Ford, CO in 1949.

He graduated from the University of Colorado with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering in 1949.  Living in Denver, he formed his own consulting engineering company where he specialized in mechanical systems for large buildings.  The company, MKK Consulting Engineers, became on of Colorado’s premier mechanical engineering firms.

Mr. Konkel was a member of the Denver Lions Club, and served as president of Valley Country Club.  He served as president of the American Consulting Engineers Council (ACEC) from 1967-1968.  He received the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Fellow Award and the ASHRAE Conservation Award.  The University of Colorado honored him in 1981 with the Distinguished Engineering Alumnus Award.  He served as a fellow in the American Consulting Engineers Council and received the Orley O. Phillips Award from ACEC.

After retiring, he authored an engineering industry handbook; Rule of Thumb Cost Estimating for Mechanical Systems in Buildings.

He and his wife retired to Tucson, AR in 1991, where he enjoyed fishing, golfing, landscaping and creating paintings in watercolor and colored pencils.  They moved to Sheridan in 2003.  He was a member of the Sheridan Artists Guild and his artwork was exhibited in many shows in the area.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Vernon.

Survivors include his wife of Sheridan; two sons Dave of Wolf, WY and Dan of Sheridan; one sister Barbara West of Reno, NV; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donald Kovar, 72, of Sheridan passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2006 at Sheridan Manor.

He was born to Lewis and Minnie (Linde) Kovar in Flasher, North Dakota on May 28, 1934. In his early years he attended school, but like many others during the depression he was forced to leave school and work at an early age. He eventually settled on a career as a truck driver. He married Phyllis Goetzinger.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one nephew. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Sheridan; his brother, Ray Kovar of Buffalo, WY; his sister, Florence Hatzenbuhler of Buffalo, WY; and numerous nieces and nephews.

At Donald’s request cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled. Kane Funeral Home is handling arrangements.


Lena E. Lyle, 85, of Sheridan, WY, died Saturday, August 5, 2006 in the Wyoming Medical Center, Casper, WY.

Mrs. Lyle was born September 11, 1920 in Moline, IL to John Virgil and Mattie (Lowery) Whiles.  She grew up and attended schools in Kewanee, IL including Kewanee Central Junior High.

Mrs. Lyle married Steven H. Lyle, October 18, 1938 in Davenport, IL.  Lena and Steve raised their children in Sheffield and Kewanee IL before moving to Sheridan in 1970.  Lena was a homemaker, a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great, great grandmother.

She was an avid reader, bowler, enjoyed fishing, the mountains, wildlife, and a huge Denver Bronco Fan. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, and she loved a good joke, retaining her sense of humor until the end.

Lena was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Steve, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers.

She is survived by five sons, Gary Lyle, of Rawlins, WY, Larry Lyle, of Moline, IL, Phil Lyle, of Tiskilwa, IL, Dave Lyle, of Sheridan, WY, and John Lyle, of Tiskilwa, IL; one daughter, Josanne Baker, of Sheridan, WY; one brother, Richard Whiles, of Coal Valley, IL; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great, great grandchild, and special extended family members, Helen McBeth & Glenda Olson of Gillette, WY; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A “Time of Sharing” with family and friends will be held from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Memorial service for Mrs. Lyle will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. R. H. Robinson officiating.  A luncheon for family and friends will be held at 732 S. Sheridan Ave., Sheridan, WY immediately following the service.  Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Shirley Mae Markley, 67, of Sheridan, WY, died Monday, August 14, 2006 in Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Markley was born April 13, 1939 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Stanley Coats and Mae (Patterson) Mount.  She grew up and attended schools in Fayetteville, and graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1958.

 Shortly after graduating from High School, Shirley married Wayne Markley in Greeley, CO.  The couple lived in Greeley, then moved to California.  Mrs. Markley moved to Sheridan in 1996.  She was the manager of an apartment complex for the First Christian Church until 2002, and was also a Certified Nurse’s Aid at Sheridan Manor. 

Shirley loved to help the homeless while she lived in California.  She also enjoyed crocheting & spending time visiting with her neighbors and friends, among who was Pastor Doug of the First Christian Church.  Shirley’s two cats were the love of her life, and she also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Mrs. Markley was preceded in death by her parents, and one son.

She is survived by one son, Gary Markley, of Montrose, CO; two daughters, Terri Johnson, of Montrose, CO, and Trisha Markley, of San Diego, CA; one brother, Gary Mount, of Kersey, CO; one sister, Joanna, Colorado Springs, CO; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and 1 great, great grandchild.

Sue Landis Meyer, 65, of Ranchester, passed away on August 24, 2006, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.

Sue was born October 23, 1940 to Walter "Judge" and Clella (Lathen) Landis in Sheridan. She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1958. She worked as a waitress at Eaton’s Ranch during her high school years and for a short time after graduation. Later Sue worked for Frontier Airlines as a flight attendant. She married Jerry Meyer in Sheridan on May 12, 1984. In her later years Sue worked three afternoons a week at King’s Western Museum and enjoyed her job and the people. She loved her horses and dogs and was a fun person who was loved by her family and numerous friends.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Jerry. She is survived by her daughter, Jonalee Watkins and her husband Todd of Bristol, IN; her two aunts, Pat Thompson-Woodworth of IL and Betty McLuen of WA; ane her numerous friends throughout Wyoming and Colorado.

Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church on Monday, August 28, 2006 at 11:00 am with Pastor Doug Melius officiating.. Kane Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

E. W. “Breezy” Morris, II, of Story, WY, went to be with the Lord on Thursday August 3, 2006 in Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

“Breezy” was born March 30, 1940 in Sheridan, WY to E. W. and Carolyn Emily Morris.  He grew up and attended Sheridan Schools and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1958.  Immediately after high school, “Breezy” joined the U. S. Navy and served for four years.

Upon his discharge from the Navy, “Breezy” returned to the Sheridan area where he became a mechanic, logger, and truck driver.  He made his home in Story for the past 30 years.  “Breezy” spent a number of years doing volunteer work at Camp Bethel.

“Breezy” was a member of the National Rifle Association.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers.

“Breezy” is survived by one son, E. W. “Stormy” Morris, III, of Durango, CO; one daughter, Tanya Jackson, of Jenks, OK; two sisters, Justine Hart, of Sheridan, WY, and Lorelei Morris, of Green River, WY; and 5 grandchildren.

Memorial service for “Breezy” will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Doolin officiating.  Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Kenneth Clayton Morris, age 38 of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, passed away Monday, August 1, 2006.

He was born November 7, 1967 in Sheridan, Wyoming, son of Verne C. Morris and Carrien McKennan Morris.

Mr. Morris was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Panama-Noriega crisis.

He is preceded in death by his father, Verne C. Morris, grandfather, Kenneth Morris, and grandmother, Evelyn Kehrwald, and an uncle, Clayton Morris.

He is survived by his wife, Allison Morris of San Antonio, Texas. His children Alexis of San Antonio, Texas, Charlotte of Sheridan, Wyoming, John and Ashley of San Antonio, Texas, and Amy of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is also survived by his mother, Carrien McKennan of Laramie, Wyoming, a brother, Eugene Morris of Falls City, Nebraska, a sister, Carol Price Keahey of Laramie, Wyoming, his paternal grandfather, Clifford Kehrwald of Sheridan, Wyoming, a maternal grandmother, Helen Gosnell of Yuma, Arizona, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mr. Morris attended Holy Name and Sheridan High School. He participated in youth baseball, basketball, and enjoyed sports, camping, attending his father’s stock car races, and culinary arts.

Funeral services will be held at Kane Funeral Home on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at 9:00 am with The Reverend Ron Stolcis officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Kane Funeral Home is handling arrangements


Robert (Bob) R. Murdock died at the Sheridan VA Hospital on Wednesday, August 9.  He was surrounded by his loved ones.

Bob was born May 19, 1931, in Sheridan to Ruth (Montgomery) and George Murdock. He graduated from Sheridan High School at the age of 16 and then worked on the family ranch.

He served the Army honorably in Korea and while in the service he met his wife Diann Perrigo in San Jose California.  They were married in 1954 and moved to the family ranch in Ranchester.   Bob attended Hiemans Business College.  Later, moving to Sheridan, they raised five children.  Bob worked at the VA Hospital in Supply.  He served on City Council in Sheridan and was a member of the Sheridan Elks Lodge. 
 
The family moved to Lubbock, Texas in 1975 when Bob was promoted to Chief of Supply with the VA Hospital.  In Lubbock, he accepted Christ as his Saviour.  He later transferred to the VA hospital in Beckley WV and Hot Springs SD and received a national commendation for his outstanding service to the VA.  He retired and returned to Buffalo where he enjoyed gardening.  He was recognized for growing a 100 pound pumpkin.  He also found great pleasure in learning about sheep ranching at the Nine Mile Ranch near Kaycee. 

Bob had a wonderful sense of humor.  His interests included fishing and hunting in the Big Horn Mountains.  He also enjoyed bowling, picnics and parades.  He adored his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren.  He loved animals, especially Mr. Tom.  One of Bob’s great joys was listening to his wife Diann play the piano and organ at church. 

Bob is survived by his wife Diann and their children, Wendy Pheasant of Buffalo; Linda Julian of Goodyear, AZ; Jeff Murdock of East Maitland, Australia; Beth Forrest and Vicki Ball, both of Colorado Springs, CO, and 12 grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at the Buffalo Wesleyan Church at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 14, with a reception following in the church hall.  Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home, Sheridan, WY.

Lucille Powers, 88, passed away on August 5, 2006 at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.

Lucille was born on April 29, 1918 to Herman and Anna (Ireland) Madron. She married Charles Powers in Fort Scott, KS on May 5, 1935 and the couple raised two sons, Charles and Roy. Lucille had great pride in her family and their success. She took special pride in maintaining her home, and her flowers were admired by her many friends. Just as important as her home, Lucille took pride in her personal appearance and always made sure she had a weekly hair appointment. When she still had good eyesight, she produced afghans for family and friends like gardens produce zucchini. Lucille was known as a good neighbor and was very helpful to those around her. In her earlier years she was a member of the Morning Circle at the First United Methodist Church and of the Soddies, an organization commemorating birth in sod houses.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a grandson, Kevin Scott Powers. She is survived by her two sons, Roy Powers and his wife Marcia of Dayton, WY and Charles Powers and his wife Caryl of Great Falls, MT; her five grandchildren, Nicholas Powers and his wife Melissa of Boise, ID, Caroline Powers of Trinidad, CA, Kenneth Powers and his wife Kendra of Tacoma, WA, Dawn Kramer of Ranchester, WY, and Kristi Petersen and her husband Darrell of Riverton, WY; her three great-grandchildren, Austin and Brandi Petersen of Riverton, WY and Nicholas Powers of Tacoma, WA; and her sister, Dona Townsend of Langley, OK.

Funeral services will be held at Kane Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at 10:00 am with Pastor Dennis Goodin of Dayton officiating. Interment will follow in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Kane Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made in Lucille’s name to the Sheridan Senior Center Mini Bus at 211 Smith Street or the First United Methodist Church at 215 West Works, Sheridan, WY 82801.


Florence Nadine Rardin, 79, of Sheridan, passed away on Tuesday, August 1st at her home.

Florence was born on August 4, 1926, to Vern and Lorraine Hauck in Newton Kansas. She married Jack Z. Rardin on December 2, 1945 in Newton, Kansas. She and Jack raised two children, Tim B. of Sheridan, and Celia Dannison , of Kerrville, TX. Florence worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for many years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sheridan, Wyoming, where she was a member of the Church Circle. Her family was her priority and she enjoyed the mountains, gardening, sewing, cooking and her friends.

Florence was preceded in death by her mother; Lorraine Jackson and her husband, Jack. She is survived by her two children; Tim of Sheridan and Celia Dannison of Kerrville, TX, and one grandchild, Mallory Lyon.

Cremation has taken place and services will be Friday, August 4th at the First Presbyterian Church at 10:00 AM with Reverend Brian Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Kane Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Charles (Bob) Rogers, 88, passed away in Sheridan, Wyoming on August 13, 2006 following a brief illness. Bob was born August 8, 1918 in Wheatland, Wyoming to Ralph and Mae Rogers. Bob worked as a ranch hand on ranches in the Chugwater and Pinedale, Wyoming areas prior to serving in Company C of the 157th Regiment during WWII. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, he was employed by Continental Pipeline for 32 years until his retirement. He married Irene Derby on May 31, 1938. Together they raised 6 children. Bob lived the majority of his life in the Cheyenne area until his recent move to Sheridan to be closer to family. He was active in the VFW and Masons. The Masons recently honored him for 50 years of membership and service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working with horses. In his later years, he especially enjoyed meeting his friends at the local coffee shop to catch up on the week’s events. Bob also very much loved his family and holiday gatherings were special occasions for him.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Irene and son Carl. He is survived by his children Charlene Rogers of Superior, Colorado; George Rogers of Sheridan, Wyoming; Edith Harbuz of Casper, Wyoming; Trisha Lewis of Wasilla, Alaska; and John Rogers of Casper, Wyoming. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; his sister Betty Jean Sayers of Missouri; and his brother Donald Rogers of Pinedale, Wyoming. He also leaves behind many good friends.

Funeral services are planned for Thursday, August 17, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Wiederspahn Chapel of the Chimes in Cheyenne. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens in Cheyenne. Kane Funeral Home is handling local arrangements.
