UNIVERSITY OF WYOMING ATHLETICS - Several representatives from the University of Wyoming athletic department attended the Sheridan County Cowboy Joe membership drive kickoff function Wednesday night.
Among the coaches attending included new Cowboys basketball coach Larry Shyatt, Shyatt comments on returning to Wyoming after 13 years since leaving the program.
Shyatt won 19 games in his only season as the Pokes Head coach and he says they know going into the coming season they have a lot of work to do.
Long time Cowboys radio broadcaster Kevin McKinney was also in Sheridan last night and we talked about Shyatt being the right fit for UW at this time.
Wyoming Athletic Director Tom Burman was also in Sheridan with the coaches and says they like getting out of Laramie in the spring to touch bases with all UW fans around the state.
Also appearing last night was Cowboys Head wrestling coach Mark Branch he says it's been great for his program to get out and see people from around the state as well.
LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Lady Bronc soccer team gets back into action this week with road conference matches to Casper Kelly Walsh tomorrow and at Laramie Saturday.
BRONC SOCCER - The Broncs host KW tomorrow the JV's will play at 4:00 with the varsity going at 6:00 on Saturday they host the defending state champs Laramie JV's go at 10:00 and the varsity at noon.
HIGH SCHOOL TRACK AND FIELD - Tomorrow the Wyoming high school activities association will host the annual Wyoming Track and Field Classic in Casper.
The Classic is an all-star meet of all athletes in all classes competing against one another who have posted the best times and distances in their events this spring.
The Bronc and Lady Bronc track teams will then head back to Casper for a big invitational on Saturday.
BRONC / LADY BRONC GOLF - The Sheridan high school golfers get back into this week with two tournaments one in Riverton tomorrow and the other in Casper Saturday
Sheridan high school will host the Sheridan invitational May 10th the spring season ends with the conference tournament in Cheyenne May 16th and 17th.
TROOPERS BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers open the American legion baseball season this weekend.
Saturday and Sunday when they join Casper and Cheyenne for games in Gillette. The Troops will play their home opener May 7th with a double header against Powell.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies and Chicago Cubs were rained out last night the game will be made up as part of a double header June 27th.
The Rockies are off today and will open a home weekend series with Pittsburgh tomorrow night.
