JETS BASEBALL - The Sheridan Jets won two and lost two at the “B” American legion state baseball tournament in Casper.They opened with a 13-7 win over Laramie then lost against Cheyenne 9-6, they came back and beat Cody 18-10 before being eliminated by the Casper “Drillers” 10-1.
Cheyenne took the championship beating Casper 9-2.
TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers lost 13-11 vs Powell in their district tournament opener then turned it on winning four in a row and qualifying for the state tournament which begins Wednesday at Thorne-rider stadium.
After the opening loss they beat up Jackson 19-2 then Cody fell 15-10 and in the 3rd place game they beat Casper 10-9 and will be the third seed in the state tournament.
The state tournament starts Wednesday morning with Torrington taking on Powell at 9:00. Rock Springs plays Gillette at noon. Casper plays Cheyenne at 3:00 and the Troopers will play Laramie in the late game at 8:00.
BABE RUTH BASEBALL -The Sheridan 13 year old Babe Ruth all star team finished 2nd in their state tournament which wrapped up over the weekend in Sheridan.
SHS BOOSTER GOLF - The Sheridan high school booster club will host their golf tournament at the Powder Horn next Friday. The tournament will shot gun start at 9:00 am and is a our person team scramble. To enter a team please contact Don Julian at Sheridan high school 672-2495 ex. 3106.
They will have lunch and silent auction to go along with the golf Friday Activities director Don Julian says they have some great items up for auction. And he says they are getting the Bronc cheerleaders in on the auction as well.
The Bronc football team opens practice on August 9th with the rest of the fall sports following a week later Julian had a reminder last week has it again for all junior high and high school athletes.
LADY BRONC VOLLEYBALL - The Sheridan Lady Bronc volleyball team will host a one day camp for girls in the 4th - 6th grades. The camp will have a morning and afternoon session at the Sheridan county “Y”August 11th. They are taking pre-registration at the “Y” the cost is 40 dollars per camper. The Lady Broncs and their coaches will be the clinicians.
NHSFR - The National high school finals rodeo concluded in Gillette. Buffalo's Megan Belus had a no-time in the break away roping finals and finished 16th overall. She was 37th in Goat Tying and 164th in Pole Bending.
Sheridan's Nikki Baumann was 79th in Goat Tying, Casey Collins was 70th in Steer Wrestling and Taylor Kelly was 39th in Saddle Bronc riding.
Overall team Wyoming finished 15th out of 48 teams.
BIG HORN POLO - In Big Horn polo action Sheridan seed defeated Century 21 in the Ducks unlimited/Pheasants forever cup 8-7 and in the chaps cup sponsored by Morton buildings 41 laboratories LLC beat the Canyon Ranch 13-5.
FLYING "H" POLO - The Flying “H” polo club will host the Coca Cola cup this week. qualifying will Thursday afternoon with the consolation an finals Saturday.
