HS FOOTBALL - The Big Horn Rams and Sheridan Broncs take their shots at #1 tomorrow. The Rams head to Glenrock while the Broncs play at Gillette.
The Rams have gotten their season turned in the right direction since an opening season loss to Greybull, with two straight impressive wins. They head to unbeaten Glenrock tomorrow.
Head coach Bert Dow says the Rams will find out how far they have come by the end of the game. The Rams and Herders got a good look at each other during their Zero-Week scrimmages in August, and Dow says it's been nice to have that information in preparation for this week. The Sheridan Broncs are 3-1 and ranked 3rd. Gillette is 4-0 and ranked #1. Week 5 for the Broncs opens with another huge test. You can hear the game live tomorrow night on AM 1410 KWYO. The First Federal Pre-Game Show starts at 6:30 with kick-off at 7 o'clock.
TOURNAMENT VOLLEYBALL - A big volleyball event is coming to Sheridan next Saturday. Eight of the top high school volleyball teams in Wyoming and Montana will be meeting in Sheridan for a one-day tournament.
Sheridan High School is hosting the event, and they will also be using the Sheridan Junior High for games. The Lady Broncs will be joined by Gillette, Casper Natrona and Casper Kelly Walsh. All four teams will play matches with the three Billings schools: Billings Senior, West and Skyview, along with Bozeman.
The Lady Broncs and Gillette will play their games at Sheridan High School. The Casper schools will play at the Junior High; it's a one-day event with matches beginning at 11 am and running into the evening.
This weekend the Lady Broncs and Big Horn Lady Rams will be in the field of teams playing in the Casper Volleyball Invitational which starts tomorrow.
The Tongue River Lady Eagles will be on the road tomorrow at Wright, and will play at home Saturday against Sundance at 3 o'clock.
GOLF - The Sheridan Bronc and Lady Bronc golfers are in Cheyenne today for a practice round for the State Golf Tournament; the opening round is tomorrow. The Broncs are the defending champs.
The Big Horn and Tongue River golfers will play at their State Tournament hosted by Hulett.
TENNIS/CROSS-COUNTRY/SWIMMING - The Sheridan High School tennis teams open regional tournament play tomorrow in Powell. The SHS cross-country teams run in Rapid City tomorrow, and the Lady Bronc swimmers and divers host a dual with Cheyenne Central. Saturday the Lady Broncs will host their own invitational.
FOOTBALL - In other football action this weekend, Wyoming opens Mountain West Conference play at home against UNLV. You can hear the game on am 1410 KWYO. Cowboy pre-game starts at noon.

MLB - After games last night, the Colorado Rockies' lead in the National League wild card race is at 4 games. The Rockies lost last night, while everyone else won. San Francisco as been joined in the chase with Atlanta and Florida. The Rockies continue their series with San Diego today.
