BRONC FOOTBALL - Ward Dobbs ended his college football career as an All-Mountain West conference Linebacker for the Cowboys in 2009, this past spring he did his student teaching at Sheridan high school. Sheridan high school Activities Director and Bronc football coach Don Julian wasn't going to let Dobbs get away once school got out and has Dobbs running the Bronc off-season weight and conditioning program.
Yesterday we found Dobbs where you'll fund him every day in the Sheridan high school weight room for two sessions of daily training.We asked Ward what's been new for the players this off .season
they have two sessions each day one in the morning and one in the evening all work-outs are voluntary but since the broncs are the defending state champs attendance has been good and work outs have been vigorous.
The official start of the football season for the broncs is Monday, August 9th.
AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers are 8-22 overall after splitting four games in Spearfish, South Dakota over the weekend. Next up for the Troops is a double header in Rapid City Thursday. Their next home date is a week from today against Casper.
The Sheridan Jets will get back into action at home Friday when they host two with Newcastle beginning at 5:00.
POLO - The Big Horn Polo Club will be back in action Sunday. They will host the the “Paul Nicholson” Memorial cup at 2:00 at the Big Horn Equestrian center the public is invited to attend.
LOCAL GOLF - The annual Moe Martini memorial golf tournament will be played Sunday at the Sheridan Country club. Players register as singles and the tournament committee will then make up the teams for the tournament from a blind draw. The tournament is a four person team scramble and will shot gun at 9:00 am Sunday. Proceeds from the tournament goes to the Sheridan Liquor Dealers scholarship program
