BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Broncs had a tough, long road trip Friday with an away game against the Evanston Red Devils. Sheridan Media's Trevor Jackson has more.
GAMES POSTPONED - The winter-like weather Friday postponed several of our local sporting events in Sheridan County. The Big Horn Rams football game against Moorcroft has been rescheduled for Monday at 4 o'clock. The site of the game has yet to be determined. Lady Rams Volleyball has also been rescheduled to Monday at 5:30. Only the Varsity will play Monday against Wright.
Big Horn Middle School volleyball has been rescheduled as well; they will play Tuesday at 5 at Arvada.
The Tongue River Eagles Football game will now take place today at Newcastle at 1 o'clock.
The NSI Wolves have also postponed their game with Lingle. NSI will travel to Lingle on Monday, October 12th.
POKES FOOTBALL - Putting a winning streak of more than two games together has been a rare occurrence at Wyoming lately. Should the Cowboys find a way to come up with a victory over New Mexico today in Laramie, it would mark only the sixth time since 1998 that a Wyoming football team has been able to string as many as three wins together.
Wyoming enters the New Mexico game after back-to-back victories over UNLV and Florida Atlantic to improve to 3-2 for the season. New Mexico comes into Laramie with a 0-5 record. But New Mexico has had Wyoming's number recently. The Lobos have beaten the Cowboys in eight of the last nine games, including four straight at War Memorial Stadium. We'll have the action for you live on AM 1410 KWYO, beginning with the pre-game at 11 o'clock and kick-off at High Noon.
MLB POSTSEASON ROCKIES - The National League Division Series shifts to Denver with the Colorado Rockies and Philadelphia Phillies tied at one game apiece. Jason Hammel is set to start for the Rockies. Meanwhile veteran Pedro Martinez will get the call for the Phillies. Temperatures for tonight's game could be in the 30's or high 20's. A mix of rain and snow is also in the forecast for metro Denver. We'll have tonight's Rockies game live for you on 93.7 HD Channel 2.
NFL BRONCOS - Denver Broncos running back Correll Buckhalter missed a third consecutive practice Friday because of an ankle injury. It appears rookie Knowshon Moreno will start in his place Sunday when the Broncos host the New England Patriots.
Buckhalter, who sprained his left ankle last Sunday, leads the NFL with 7.2 yards per carry and leads the team with 267 yards rushing. But Moreno, who has shaken off a knee sprain that sidelined him for the final three weeks of the pre-season, also has
become a force in Denver's 4th-ranked rushing attack. We'll have Sunday's action live for you on AM 1410 KWYO. Pre-game is at 1 o'clock with kick-off slated for shortly after 2 pm.
