The Buffalo boys' swim team started their season last weekend by taking fifth place in the Casper Relays, and placing three underclassmen at the Gillette Pentathlon.
Coach Ron Chapin said the team swam well at Casper against mainly 4A competition.
That first race set the tone for the rest of the day, Chapin said, and Buffalo continued to show well.
At the Gillette Pentathlon Saturday, the team consisted of underclassmen as the older kids had ACT testing to complete, but the youngsters did a fine job, with Neil Medders finishing in first place, Nate Holt finishing second, and Josh Dillinger taqking fifth in the JV Division.
On Friday, the Bison will host Cheyenne South, Worland and Newcastle at their home pool.
Chapin said it will be an opportunity to see some competition in their own conference.
The Bison will then travel to take on some familiar foes as well as some exceptional competition, he said.
