Both the Buffalo and Kaycee football teams' seasons came to an end in their semifinal games this past weekend.
Buffalo travelled to take on rival Douglas Friday night and stayed close throughout the game, but in the end they fell to the Bearcats.
Douglas opened scoring in the first quarter on a 48-yard run for a touchdown and the two-point conversion was good for an 8-0 lead.
In the second quarter Buffalo scored on a fake punt as Collin Rodriguez scampered 66 yards for the touchdown. The PAT was good and the Bison pulled within 8-7.
Douglas scored again, but the 2-point try was no good and the Bearcats took a 14-7 lead into the half.
Douglas scored in the third and again failed on the 2-point try to lead 20-7.
buffalo scored midway through the fourth quarter to pull within 20-14 and the Bearcats held on and ran out the clock for the win.
Douglas will move into the 3A Championship this weekend against Powell, who defeated Green River 23-21.
The Kaycee Buckaroos lost to Little Snake River 66-15, and Little Snake River will take on Dubois, who beat the Midwest Oilers Friday 75-47. The 1A Championship will also be in Laramie this weekend.
