The faithful and reliable signage at Perkins Restaurant and those in the vehicle windows of cars in the Sheridan High School parking lot on Monday morning say it all, "State Champs!" Some of the vehicle signs show the ravages of driving 300+ miles back from Laramie, many via Cheyenne, in extremely high wind and blowing snow conditions. Even those who stayed and spent Saturday night in Laramie found that the usual route back via Medicine Bow closed. After Saturday's closure it closed again around 9:00 am Sunday when Highway 30 and Interstate 80 closed west of Laramie. Semi tractor trailers backed up for miles when they found they couldn't go any further west than Laramie. Except for the high winds and some slick road conditions between Laramie and Cheyenne it was smooth sailing without any tractor trailers going east out of Laramie. Then from Cheyenne north it was mostly strong blowing wind. But it was well worth the round trip - and oh that Championship game - wish more of you could have enjoyed it live and in person.
