The flags at the Police and Sheriff's Department as well as many others around Sheridan were at half staff on Tuesday as a reminder for all Americans of the service of our safety officers who work on a daily basis protecting our citizens, enforcing our laws and keeping our neighborhoods safe. While there didn't seem to be any special ceremonies or activities set for out area we should all pause and remember the heroes who have laid down their lives so that we can pursue a safer way of life. In addition to being "Peace Officers Memorial Day" on Tuesday the period of May 13 through May 19th is designated as "Police Week." If you happen to see a law enforcement officer this week why not tell them, "Thanks!" The presidential proclamation can be viewed here: http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-pr...
