Terry Richards, Oglala Lakota, and Bob Wilson, retired Fort Phil Kearny Superintendent, stand near the Bozeman Trail just north of the Fetterman Monument on Friday as they wait for tour members to gather for Part II of the annual December 21st tour. Terry and Bob each described the battle and heroic moments from each side of the engagement as the group walked along Massacre Hill. Bob indicated to the approximate 100 tour members that the weather conditions on this Friday were similar to those encountered 146 years ago. Following the battlefield tour the group returned to the fort for a talk and demonstration of the weapons used in this battle and the battle of the Wagon Box before enjoying refreshments in the visitors center.
