The York Place planned unit development on East Montana Street in Sheridan was originally proposed as 24 infill units of affordable housing. Each unit was to be a duplex, that more resembled a home than a duplex, but the project folded and went into foreclosure after only four units were built.
The Sheridan City Council Monday night approved a letter of support for Grimshaw Investments to apply for WCDA funding to finish the development. Developer Steve Grimshaw.
Grimshaw said that if they receive the WCDA funding, that completion of the remainder units would take approximately 8 months after construction begins in the fall. Grimshaw said that he intends to offer the units as rentals once completed.
