We continue our year in review today with a look at the months of July, August and September. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has more.
The month of July began with tragedy, when on the 4th of July holiday, 23-year-old Sheridan resident Jesse Salveson was shot and killed during an altercation with two Sheridan Police Officers. Sheridan County Attorney Matt Redle.
Officers responded to a domestic dispute at the home of Salveson, where after an unsuccessful attempt to subdue him with a taser, Salveson came at one of the officers with a knife, cutting him on the arm prior to being fatality shot.
In August, officials with the City of Sheridan and Rocky Mountain Ambulance held a media conference regarding the recently signed contract for EMS between the City and RMA. Sheridan Police Chief Richard Adriaens.
In September, law enforcement arrested four individuals from Sheridan who were in possession of almost $200,000 worth of methamphetamine and $34,000 in U.S. currency.
Also in September, Volunteers of America Northern Rockies held their annual Bandana Barn Dance fundraiser that netted over $100,000 for the Sheridan Community Shelter.
