Every year, the National Weather Service designates a Weather Awareness Week, and the NWS office in Billings has narrowed that down even further by designating Wednesday, October 6th, as Wyoming Weather Awareness Day.
Marc Singer is the Science and Operations Officer with the NWS, and reminds the public to prepare now for the times those big winter storms move in.
Singer says that preparedness is important both for the home and also for vehicles, with items to have on hand similar in both cases.
Of course having non-perishable food items and battery-powered radios or weather radios in the weather safety kits are important to include.
