The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services reported Monday 5,701 new jobs were added to the state's economy in the past month, and the average weekly wage increased by $22.
However, employment is still 2.4 percent, or 6,900 jobs below its level in the second quarter of 2008. Natrona County saw the biggest gain in jobs, reporting 1,686 jobs and a total payroll growth of $36.6 million. Those jobs were gained in wholesale trade, construction, other services, mining (including oil and gas) and transportation and warehousing.
Sheridan County added 93 jobs, while the average weekly wage rose $12 to $721. Johnson County added 81 jobs, and the average weekly wage rose $44 to $648.
