The Diesel Technology Forum reports Wyoming has the highest percentage of diesel pickup trucks in the nation.
Richard Hammer, owner of Hammer Chevrolet, says the face of the diesel market has definitely changed in the last few years.
Times have changed since then, as the price of diesel is considerably higher. Hammer says today, people are driving diesel engines almost purely out of necessity.
However, there's a possibility the market will swing back the other way once again.
He said Chevy has come out with a compact car that runs on diesel fuel and gets 46 miles to the gallon. While it's not in the show room yet, it may be on the way.
