At a media conference Wednesday, Wyoming Governor Matt Mead announced that 10,000 of Wyoming’s state employees have now migrated to Google Apps for Government.
Mead was joined by State Chief Information Officer Flint Waters and Google President of Enterprise David Girouard.
Mead said that one of his top priorities in taking office earlier this year was moving Wyoming forward in the technological world, starting with state government.
The move puts all of the state employees on a single email platform for the first time. Previously the state used more than thirteen different platforms.
Governor Mead closed the event by saying that he will always look for ways for state government to operate more effectively and efficiently.
