The Wyoming Department of Transportation has announced that crews are preparing to close US 14A west of Burgess Junction for the season at noon on Tuesday, November 30.
Thats's WYDOT Public Involvement Specialist Ronda Holwell, who explains that it just isn't feasible to keep the 22-mile scenic mountain road open all winter.
Holwell also said that WYDOT has awarded a contract to McMurry Ready Mix of Casper, WY for work on 12 miles of US Highway 14 from Dayton to Steamboat Rock.
Holwell stated that the project is on schedule to begin next week, and is estimated to cost $4.7 million. The project's completion date is September 30, 2011. Be sure to join us Friday, when we'll take a look at a project that WYDOT will be starting in the spring of 2011.
