The Sheridan Chamber of Commerce Legislative Forum continued through Tuesday, and included several presentations regarding Wyoming and technology. Ptolemy Data Systems gave a presentation on “high tech growth” Tuesday morning, and Advanced Communications Technology, or ACT, gave a presentation on broadband infrastructure in Wyoming.
Aaron Sopko, General Manager for ACT, told our legislators he has concerns about the national legislation to extend broadband coverage, as it is currently being proposed
And keeping apace with broadband development is important for many reasons, Aaron says, especially economic:
He adds that the way the plan is currently written, it suggests that more urban areas will need speeds up to 100 megabits per second, while more rural areas 4 megabits per second.
