The Wyoming Wilderness Association will be having a public meeting to discuss the possible designation of Rock Creek as a widerness area tonight at the Johnson County Library in Buffalo, beginning at 6pm.
Justin Gerard of the WWA explains what he hopes to gain from the meeting.
The push to create the new wilderness area has been ongoing for a number of years because, Gerard said, it takes an act of Congress to do so. He said it would be quite a feat to accomplish but the process has been slow, just like the governmental process in general.
Gerard believes there are more people in favor of the designation and the WWA has been speaking with our representatives in Congress to help try to push the issue along.
Gerard explains what benefits can be gained from a wilderness designation for Rock Creek.
Again the meeting is at 6pm tonight at the Johnson County Library.
