A public hearing on a proposed tech park for north of Sheridan took place at the Trails End last night. The proposed site for the tech park is on 38-acres by the V.A., Brian Kuehl, Managing Partner at The Clark Group, which is the consulting firm for this project, says they selected this location, in part, because of the redundant Internet in this area.
One of the reasons for building a tech park is that it would help diversify the local economy and attract high paying jobs to the area. Brian says there are many other potential economic benefits as well.
The Sheridan City Council will consider a $1.2 million infrastructure grant proposal this Monday, and will probably submit the proposal within the next week. The money from the grant would be used to extend water and sewer lines to the park area. Over the next several months they will be working on the master planning for the project.
