The Research and Planning section of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services has released the unemployment numbers for the month of February. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has the story.
Sheridan County's unemployment rate went down from 7.6 percent in January, to 7.3 percent in February, which is significantly lower than last year's 8.4 percent unemployment rate for February.
The statewide unemployment rate dropped slightly from 5.5 percent in January to 5.4 percent for February. Lincoln County posted the highest unemployment rate in February at 8.8 percent. Sublette County had the lowest rate at 3.3 percent. The national unemployment rate for February was 8.7 percent, which was actually down from last year's February unemployment rate of 9.8 percent.
