The Sheridan Police Department has confirmed Brett Collins, age 20, was killed yesterday at the Big Goose Water Treatment Plant. Collins was a member of the COP Construction crew building the new Clearwell site. A media release from the police department indicates Collins was struck in the head with the bucket of a track hoe.
The Sheridan Police Department issued a media release stating that the Police Department, along with the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office, Rocky Mountain Ambulance and Goose Valley Fire Department responded to the Big Goose water treatment facility’s new underground holding tank construction site for an injured worker.
The worker was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The 20-year-old male victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

A 20-year-old construction worker in Sheridan died Monday from injuries sustained during an incident at the Big Goose Water Treatment Plant. The man was working for COP Construction of Sheridan, who are handling some of the upgrades that are being done to the treatment plant. Local law enforcement are investigating what led to the man's death, as no further information has been released at this time.
