The Wyoming Department of Transportation officially began accepting bids on the Trabing Road repaving and straightening project on December 15th, and will continue accepting bids until January 12, 2012.
Sealed bids will be received until 9:30 am on that date, when bid proposals will be publicly opened and read at the Hilton Garden Inn & UW Conference Center in Laramie.
Johnson County Road and Bridge Supervisor Scott Pehringer updated the county commissioners on the project at their last meeting December 6th.
The project, according to the WYDOT website, will consist of grading, draining, placing crushed base and pavement surfacing, fencing and other miscellaneous work on just over eight miles of Trabing Road (County Road 13) south of Buffalo, beginning at the cattle guard at Interstate 25.
Pehringer said there has been a lot of interest from contractors so far on the project, so he is expecting quite a few bids from them.
He and commissioner Delbert Eitel are considering attending the bid opening in Laramie January 12th.
Construction on the project is expected to begin in the spring and be completed by October 31, 2012.
