CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The National Weather Service says strong thunderstorms that passed through southeastern Wyoming spawned tornados and flash-flooding in the area and ripped the roof off a house in the town of Burns. Police say people were inside the house when it was damaged but no one was hurt.
The Weather Service issued tornado warnings Tuesday afternoon and evening as storms moved through Colorado and Nebraska and into Laramie County.
Trained spotters reported a tornado mid-afternoon 13 miles south of Cheyenne in an undeveloped area of Weld County, Colorado. Another tornado was spotted 5 miles west of Pine Bluffs at about 6:15 p.m. in a sparsely populated area.
The Weather Service says it fielded reports of a storm-damaged roof and downed power poles in Burns, about 23 miles east of Cheyenne. Police in nearby Pine Bluffs reported hail damage to vehicles.
There were no reports of injuries.
