Life just gets brighter and brighter for the Tongue River Valley Community Center. They have just received a grant in the amount of $5,000 from the Sheridan/Johnson Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Wyoming Community Foundation.
The grant award is to help fund TRVCC's afterschool program. The program serves students in kindergarten though 8th grade during the after school hours and on Fridays when District 1 is not in session.
In a media release issued Tuesday afternoon, Center Director Erin Kilbride indicates that the funds will help broaden the scope of the center's programs, effectively meet the afterschool needs for youth and help fund staffing positions. The program targets special areas of educational, social, physical and nutritional enhancement activities.
