The Tongue River Valley Community Center in Dayton could be open by this time next month if work is not further delayed during September. The Center has had the enormous challenge of funding the renovation of the former Tongue River High School building to serve the Dayton community. The Center won't be able to keep both locations open indefinitely without more funding for operations. TRVCC Executive Director Erin Kilbride says the center is starting a grass roots campaign for donations.
To reach that ambitious goal, Kilbride is asking Tongue River Valley residents to raise a collective $250,000 in the next month and a half.
Kilbride hopes to use the money raised from the local communities to leverage larger grants and donations to reach their ultimate goal of an additional $3.1 Million. That would bring endowment funds to nearly $4.5 Million that could be used to cover operating costs of both the Ranchester and Dayton facilities.
