The brand new Tongue River High School will undergo a minor remodeling during the holiday break this year. Moisture in the concrete as it cured kept tiles from sticking to the floor of the commons area. District Business Manager Jeremy Smith says “value engineering” at the request of the School Facilities Commission caused the vapor barrier to be eliminated.
On the other side of the District, the construction at the Big Horn School is on schedule and workers will install temporary heating this week. The heating will allow inside work to continue throughout the winter. Smith says it’s too soon to estimate a completion date.
The School Board also approved an agreement with the Sheridan Area Water Supply joint powers board to provide water for the new school. The District plans to start using the facility next fall.
