The first two Third Thursday Street Festivals have seen unprecedented attendance. Organizers asked the Sheridan City Council to modify their event permit due to the success of the first two festivals.
Chad Franklin is one of the festival organizers and he tells us why expanding the area where alcohol can be served is such a big deal.
On Monday, the Sheridan City Council voted to modify the permit for the next festival. Alcohol will be allowed throughout the event and Main Street will be closed from Alger to Loucks Street. City Councilor John Bigelow did not vote in favor of the modification.
Another concern voiced by the council was the lack of monitoring on the current beer garden.
There are two more Third Thursday Festivals planned for this year. The next one will be August 20th from 5 to 9 in the evening.
