Crews were scheduled to begin grooming the 300 miles of Big Horn Mountain snowmobiling trails Monday, and according to state trail workers the snow is as good as it's been in 15 years.
Sheridan Travel and Tourism Executive Director Penny Becker.
Rick Young, who owns and runs of all three lodges in the Bighorns with his wife Roberta, said that there are six to twelve inches at the lodges and more than fifty inches on Hunt Mountain Road.
Though it is still early in the season, Young says that conditions are the best they've been since 1996. Trails in the Big Horns were ranked seventh in the west this year by readers of SnowWest Magazine. Trails compete in the top 15 each year along with others across Wyoming.
Becker says that these conditions work right into Sheridan Travel and Tourism's new theme: “Blaze Trails”.
Becker said that STT is also offering vacation packages for those who want to visit Sheridan. Just visit sheridanwyoming.org, and click on vacation specials.
