A century-old Wyoming fish culture facility will debut a new look in early July as the Story Fish Hatchery will host an open house to showcase their remodeled and upgraded facility.
Game and Fish Information Specialist Warren Mischke explains why the fish hatchery had to be closed to the public for a number of years.
All of the construction is done and the remodel has been completed. Mischke says that the project took a little bit longer than what they had anticipated.
The open house at the Story Fish Hatchery will be Saturday, July 9th from 10 am to 4 pm. Mischke said that they will be giving tours of the facility throughout the day and that there will be games and drawings for the kids as well.
While the hatchery was able to produce eggs during the construction period, the renovations will now allow them the capability of producing and incubating 4 to 6 million eggs each year.
