Johnson County's elected officials gave the State Of The County Address Wednesday afternoon at a luncheon sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce.
County Commission Chair Smokey Wildeman, after the luncheon, summed up his view of where the county is today.
Wildeman opened today's address by looking back at what was accomplished in 2011, praising the cooperation between the city and county to get some projects started and others completed.
He spoke briefly about current projects the entities will be working on such as the new judicial center and the sports fields complex and maintenance and upgrades to the fairgrounds.
He acknowledged what future plans are on the horizon including a possible community center, the NW Water Supply Project to the airport, the SW Quadrant Infrastructure Project, and the Crazy Woman Square Redesign.
Commissioners John Gibbs and Delbert Eitel also gave brief presentations as did Assessor Cindy Rogers, Treasurer Carla Faircloth, Clerk Vicki Edelman, Clerk of Court Thelma Axberg and Sheriff Steve Kozisek.
