The state of Wyoming currently contracts with out-of-state firms for data storage, with the most significant data storage requirements coming from the state Auditor's office. Vicci Colgan Deputy State Auditor, says they were required to give an “intent to renew” notice to the firm by September 30th. And although they have given notice, she says.
She adds that the current contract was developed prior to State Auditor Rita Meyer taking office and that the decision regarding whether to renew the contract will be decided by the next state auditor.
The current contract was for five years, expiring in September of 2011, and is in the amount of $22.6 million.
