The Johnson County Commissioners will be holding a Special Meeting Wednesday, October 10th to rescind the county-wide fire ban that was enacted earlier this summer.
The commissioners enacted the fire ban on June 28th of this year in response to unusually warm and dry conditions which sparked numerous fires that cropped up in the county as well as the state and region, including the 25,000-plus acre Cato Fire east of Buffalo.
The commissioners are expected to rescind Resolution No. 459A, which implemented full fire restrictions in the county.
The meeting will be in the Commission Offices at 10am Wednesday upstairs in the Historic Courthouse.
