Wyoming Speaker of the House of Representatives Colin Simpson confirmed what most had suspected for some time, that he would indeed be running for governor. In a media release issued Monday afternoon, Simpson indicated that he would officially launch his campaign this Thursday with stops in Cheyenne, Casper and Cody.
Simpson joins a crowded field seeking the Republican Party
nomination in the governor's race. Already running are State
Auditor Rita Meyer, Ron Micheli, a former state legislator and
former head of the state agricultural department and Matt Mead, a former U.S. attorney for Wyoming. Simpson has not given any details of his campaign platform, but is expected to do so Thursday.
