Sheridan Memorial Hospital had a special meeting of the Board of Trustees yesterday and awarded the bid for construction of the cardiac catheterization lab to O'Dell Construction of Sheridan. In total, the hospital received three bids; the other two were from Fletcher Construction Company and KWN Construction. Hospital CEO, Mike McCafferty.
The board first had to approve a budget increase for the new facility construction of almost $1 million. All estimates were over the agreed-upon ceiling of $2.9 because there was a last-minute decision to build two catheterization rooms instead of one. The new total for the project estimate is $3.8 million, but the hospital only has to pony up the $1,375,000, thanks to foundational support.
Construction is expected to begin soon, and will entail renovation of an older laboratory space as well as adding new floorspace to the hospital. O'Dell Construction also built the hospital's emergency department.
