Medicare enrollment can be a cumbersome process, and the Sheridan Senior Center says the most important thing to remember is to use the available resources to educate yourself.
In-home program services coordinator with the Senior Center, Mary Anderson, gave a brief overview detailing some of what people 65-and-older should know about Medicare during a Work session at City Hall Monday.
This year, changes in Medicare part D enrollment and changes in Medicare Advantage Part C plans need to be made before December 7.
Medicare part D includes insurance for prescription medications. Medicare Advantage Part C coverage includes most of Medicare Parts A and B.
Medicare Part A covers hospital insurance including stays and nursing care. Part B covers medical insurance like ER and doctors visits, ambulance and lab services, and durable medical equipment such as dialysis machines.
