Sheridan School District 2 Superintendent Craig Dougherty and Sheridan High School Principal Dirlene Wheeler were guests on KROE’s Public Pulse Program last Thursday.
Wheeler said that while they are very proud of the recent recognition of SHS as a Silver Award winner from U.S. News & World Report, they continue to work toward improving math scores as students prepare for college.
Also, in national news last week, headlines declared that there were going to be “sweeping changes in the No Child Left Behind law.” Wheeler says that there have been both positive and negative aspects to the law.

And the February District 2 School Board meeting will be held this evening at 6 pm in the Central Office at the end of Grinnell Plaza. The public is always welcome – in fact, encouraged – to attend.
