Sheridan Recreation District Executive Director Richard Wright informed the Sheridan City Council Friday at a budget work session that the Rec. District has reduced their budget by $100,000.
Wright explains that along with the mill levy from School District 2 being down, it was a number of different things that allowed them to reduce their budget from $1.3 million to $1.2 million.
How to maintain Kendrick Pool was also discussed at the work session, as the only municipal pool in Sheridan is approaching its 75th birthday.
Sheridan Mayor Dave Kinskey stated that it's time to start taking a look at developing a maintenance account for the pool. The Sheridan Recreation District took over the pool in the late 1980's, says Wright.
Last year despite over 18,000 visitors, Kendrick Pool experienced a net loss of $26,000.
