Here's a look at the past week's top stories from Sheridan Media News:
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology, or MIT, has released statistics for the cost of living around the nation with customized statistics for the City of Sheridan.
According to the Living Wage Calculator tool, a single parent needs to earn at least $17 per hour to maintain a normal standard of living here. However, when there are two adults in the household, the estimated living wage drops to $15.36 an hour, presumably because childcare costs would not apply.
Many Sheridanites have pointed out the cost of living was drastically underestimated in the study.
After nearly two hours of a public hearing that included presentations from the engineer for the project, adjacent landowners for and against the project, and three different attorneys, the Sheridan City Council elected to table the Skyview West PUD overlay Monday night.
Council President John Heath, who called for the motion to table the item, explains his decision to do so.
The City Council will likely address the item again at their next regularly scheduled meeting Monday, April 15th.
Kim Love announced he's opening a new restaurant on main street where Oliver's used to be. He explains why.
Love said he hopes to employ 25 to 30 employees.
