A 39-year-old Sheridan man drove a Cadillac car over the porch of a house on the 300 block of Coffeen Avenue Wednesday night.
Lt. Chris Dahmke said the car had apparently crossed incoming traffic at a high rate of speed, gone off the road through a yard of one residence and then come to rest near the porch of a neighboring house when authorities arrived.
Upon investigation, police discovered the driver of the car, John Parsons of Sheridan, to be under the influence of some type of drug, Dahmke said.
After being evaluated by EMS personnel at the scene, Parsons was booked into the Sheridan County Detention Center. He was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of methamphetamine drug paraphernalia, and issued a citation for inhalation.
Sheridan Police received the call that a vehicle had collided into a house at about 9:22 pm and responded along with Rocky Mountain Ambulance and Sheridan Fire-Rescue.
