National news agencies are reporting slightly lower unemployment rates and a modest improvement in the economy this quarter. The housing market in Sheridan isn't showing any dramatic improvements, but Realtor, Shauna Hernandez, with Summit Realty Group, said real estate trends in town are starting to settle down.
Hernandez also said Sheridanites can use the national economy to serve as a window to the local future.
At the end of the day, lower home prices mean that someone who's looking to buy and sell in Sheridan might end up with a comparably fair deal.
As of Friday, there were 199 houses for sale within Sheridan City limits. Hernandez estimates that 15 percent of houses on the market are under contract.
