Numerous navy blue corduroy jackets bearing the FFA patch will be seen at Sheridan High School Thursday, as the school's chapter participates in National FFA Week. Other ways they have been observing the week, which runs February 20th - 27th, Chapter President Vicky Nesbitt says.
Of course, the male participants wear black pants instead of a skirt and tights, thankfully, but all members sport the sharp-looking blue jackets.
Formerly known as Future Farmers of America, the title is now known as just FFA, so that more people can participate, not just those intending to enter a farming career. Senior Codi McKenzie serves as Chapter Secretary, and tells us why students take part in FFA.
The SHS chapter have also been busy preparing since January for the FFA State Convention slated for April 6 - 10 in Cheyenne. Senior Jenny Vigil, Chapter Treasurer, outlines that event.
