The Sheridan County Planning & Zoning Commission Wednesday approved a seven-year request to continue operations at the Black Mountain Quarry in the Big Horn Mountains, located off of US Highway 14.
The land is owned by the State and WYDOT, and consists of 12.5 acres, 5.5 of which would be used for the quarry. The quarry is used for excavating, crushing, and stockpiling aggregate for production of maintenance salt sand for the WYDOT Burgess Junction location.
The Commission also approved a CUP request from Jerry and Rebecca Reimers of 124 Prairie Dog Road. Jerry Reimers comments.
Jerry's wife, Rebecca Reimers' father was Bino, and Rebecca worked at the corner grocery store in Sheridan her entire life, and now runs the wholesale facility. The CUP request for the Bino's wholesale facility will now move on for consideration by the County Commissioners at a future meeting.
