At their latest meeting, the Sheridan County Fair Association's Board of Trustees gave some updates about their ideas for an indoor arena. Steve Eliason, chairman of the board, says rumors have been floating around.
Eliason says there's plenty of issues to work out before the early concept becomes a reality.
According to Eliason, board members are working on drawing up a formal document on the concept and they hope to meet with county officials in the near future.
Early estimates for the proposed addition to the fairgrounds come in at around $750,000 - but the arena is not set in stone. Before moving forward, Facilities Director Melissa Albrecht says they need to compare the maintenance and energy costs of using either fabric or steel, among other things.
