Sheridan County Commissioners approved a land lease agreement with Verizon Wireless Tuesday. The agreement solidifies a prior agreement between Verizon and the Sheridan County Fair Association to construct a 60 foot monopole cell tower near the Fairgrounds office building. Commissioner Bob Rolston says that the proposed cell tower has made its way through the proper channels.
The five year lease agreement that was made with the Fair Association states that Verizon will pay $60,000 up front for the five years once construction of the tower is underway and that they will pay $1,000 a month to rent the space provided for the cell tower. Along with the 60 foot tower, there will be a small building at the base of the structure as well.
