Green House for Living in Sheridan held a ceremonial groundbreaking in early November of this year. Green House recently requested a fee and permit waiver from the City of Sheridan in the amount of $137,568, which was approved by the City Council this week.
Green House President Doug Osborn explains why they had to request the waiver.
Osborn said that they project a 62% increase in costs in excess of budget amounts for matching fund requirements in contract with the City for the Business Council infrastructure grant. Osborn says that there is another funding concern that they have.
The first phase of the project consists of four homes that will house 12 elders each on a little over two acres of land located at the Village at Cloud Peak Ranch in northwest Sheridan. The project, which is the first of its kind in the state of Wyoming will offer an alternative to the traditional nursing home, as it is intended to provide a more home-like atmosphere for seniors.
