Immediately following a brief executive session after their regularly scheduled meeting Thursday night, the Northern Wyoming Community College District Board of Trustees made a significant announcement. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter was there and has the story.
Board Chair Kati Sherwood announced that the College Board has been presented with an exciting opportunity to further collaborate with the University of Wyoming and Whitney Benefits to enhance agricultural and horticultural programs at both schools. As part of the collaboration, the board will consider the transfer of the Watt Ag Building to the UW. Sheridan College President Dr. Paul Young.
If the proposal is accepted by the board, which seems almost a forgone conclusion, there is another big benefit for both schools explains Young.
The University of Wyoming currently has three separate locations within Sheridan County, this collaboration would bring all of those to a central location. The NWCCD Board will vote on the proposal at their next scheduled meeting, which is set for Thursday, May 17th.
