During a news conference held by U.S. Senators with the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, Senator Mike Enzi said that the anniversary of health reform marks a year of empty promises. Enzi stated that the most sweeping health care legislation that the Federal Government has ever produced threatens jobs, small businesses and the financial security of families across the country.
Enzi says that the President's own admission that the health care law is flawed still hasn't changed things.
Enzi pointed out how the much publicized meeting prior to the bill being passed was more for show than anything.
Enzi also said that a 59% increase announced by the the not-for-profit California insurer Blue Shield for some of their individual market plans, is a good example of how the new health care law is turning out to be nothing but an empty promise.
