A group of interested people are taking a bus trip to Billings next Tuesday, November 17th, to visit the Green House cottages at St. John's Lutheran Ministries.
For about the past two or three years, the Sheridan Senior Center has been in the process of developing a Green House Project which will include four cottages for Sheridan's seniors. This trip will give folks an opportunity to see how the living facility is designed.
In a statement from event planner Barbara Walter, there are 15 available seats on the bus, which will leave promptly at 8 am Tuesday from the Sheridan College Golden Dome, and will return at 4 pm. Walter says that passengers will enjoy a Continental breakfast, which will be provided, they'll watch a short video sharing the joys of Green House Living in other communities, and they will enjoy readings and conversation with Sheridan's own award-winning author, Craig Johnson.
In Billings, the group will tour the Green House cottages, socialize and have lunch with the elders and staff at St. John's, and hear from the national Green House Project about this important change in caring for the elderly.
There is no fee for the trip, but you do need to call to reserve a seat on the bus. Walter asks that participants arrive a few minutes before 8 to ensure leaving on time.
